The vision for the Nintendo Wii was in the works as early as 2000. However, the public didnt get a taste of the concept until mid 2004. The goal of Nintendo with this product was to revolutionize the home gaming console industry. Many consumers were very excited about the ideas but some worried that they wouldnt be able to materialize.
